Ibiza Bank Holiday Weekend 22-25th of August

Forget the Nottinghill Carnival, this bank holiday was all about the sun, sea and sand ... well almost!

I jetted off for a long weekend away to the island of Ibiza for a bit of a boogy, some top quality cuisine and of course the sunshine.

Upon arrival to our Hostal  (hello we thought we were staying at a hotel), we unpacked the outfits and headed into the centre of San Antonio for dinner. Now most people would assume that at a guess the cuisine on this part of the Island would be crap, but thanks to a local shop assistant, we managed to stumble upon El Rincon De Pepe, a brilliant Tapas restaurant, slap bang in the middle of all the touts, bars and chaos.

Tummy's full we went back to get ready for what turned out to be the best night of the holiday, Fedde Le Grande @ Pacha. Leaving our jet lag in our suitcase we rocked down to Ibiza Town for the event and didn't stop grooving till about 5am, approximately 23 hours since we last hit the slept the day before. Fedde was amazing, but the guy after him was even better, pumping up the crowd with every track.

Next day and really really knackered we hopped on the local bus to head over to a local beach.

Hello, where was the sunshine???? It wasn't worth crawling out of bed for, in fact , it rained. Typical or what.

Saturday night was a lot better as we had booked dinner at the amazing Bam Buddha Grove restaurant and boy it certainly didn't disappoint. With a Tantric cat, nomad, Thai decor, sex shop and brilliant food, this place is definitely worth a visit and funnily enough had been recommended to us by a number of friends. Thanks to all of you as it was fab.

After this we went Ibiza Town, had a drink, met our toilet friend, some crazy guy that was mega funny and invited us to go to Space the following day, though we never actually saw him in there. About 1.30am we caught a taxi to El Divino for Hed Kandi, and despite me blagging guestlist through my music contacts back in London, it was crap. Nothing like a typical sort of Ministry night. The venue was shite as well. Left there about three and got some much needed kip, well about 4 hours of it before getting ready for our only day in the sun, at the beach party down Bora Bora.

The aim on Sunday was to get to Bora Bora for about 11am and chill there for a few hours before heading to Space nightclub for their Space Sunday's event. The beach party was great fun, it seemed like all the hot people on the Island had decided to party in one location. Plus all the planes flying straight over the beach every 10 minutes added a special something to the atmosphere.

With 6pm looming we went over to Space, only for me to get ID'd, lame. It actually worked out for the best as we decided to make the most of the rest of the day and visit the sunset at Cafe Mambo, on the other side of the island. It was the best sunset i have ever seen, with thousands of people seating themselves on the rocks just for an glimpse of the Spanish sunshine.

It was well worth doing as Space was too hardcore for us, so we are really glad we made the most of our final day.

Monday was mainly about the tan, but with Heather not using any sun tan lotion on her face, i knew i was never going to catch up, whilst on factor 40. Oh and yes you've guessed it, it was cloudy again.

Had a great weekend, but it was all ruined by Iberia airways who decided to delay our first flight, which meant our luggage didn't make the next connecting flight. Our bags stayed in Madrid for two extra days, which put a bit of a downer on everything, just wish i could have stayed out there with them.
